The most successful Australian underground comic in modern times (2021).

In the last seven months John Nolan's 'Euro Zombie Death March 1999' has sold 106 copies. When compared to American underground comics this number may seem low. Yet this is in Australia where non-establishment production is ignored until it has become popular overseas. Granted most who have a copy of this graphic novel (which I was lucky to have John let me go to town making his story into a comic) are Powder Monkeys listeners. I do know of one American who was not, but now is a convert.

Normally one would wait for some journo to document this success, yet I mention it here for posterity. This book will not be part of the gold of Australian comic awards, 'The Ledgers.' Or I doubt even be accepted in the PHD funded landscape of 'Australian Comics.'

I believe this book is more in line with the 80' and 90's of underground or non-popular comics. Where owners actual show their friends, or the old word of mouth. To risk sounding like a stuck up wanka, it's because they like it.
